02 / The story

Rooted in Sudan. Raised through movement. Sung from the softest place.

Rama Osman is a Sudanese singer-songwriter and voice artist creating at the crossroads of modern R&B, jazz and soul. Her public story travels from Khartoum to the DMV and Atlanta, but the center stays intimate: music that holds pain, tenderness and possibility in the same breath.

Inspired by the expressive lineage of voices such as Billie Holiday and Nina Simone, Rama is building her own language—warm, emotionally direct and unafraid of quiet. Her work lives equally well on record, in a bookstore, and before a festival-sized crowd.
